I recently purchased an NEC plasma unit, and the picture seems pretty good, but sometimes you notice too much red in peoples faces. Is there a good way to gauge how accurate the color representation is? IE use a CD and do a pause on it to accurately adjust the colors. I also have a Tivo unit to pause live TV if this would help in adjustments.

I wasn't sure if there was a preferred method, or just personal viewing preference when it comes to color adjustment.

Thanks,

Noah

I would buy the AVIA test DVD and use the test patterns on there to tweak your TV to the best possible picture. They include three colored filters to use during the calibration and the steps are very easy to master....it's worth every penny of the 30 bucks or so. You wont belive what a difference it will make.

What Matt said! After setting the basic values, Take a look at the advanced video calibration settings: There is a special section there just for displays showing "red faces" (I can't remember the technical term).
