Help.....

I am setting up a HAL 2000 system with an Ocelot to control my Home Theater. Where is the IR sensor on a VS-50502, it is about three/four years old?

It's probably behind the screen. That's how they do it on most RPTVs. Not sure where you'd put the stick-on emiter though you surely aren't the first to have this question so perhaps someone else will know.

Does the TV have an IR input jack on the back? I think some do.

Yeah, they are on the inside...take the back bottom little peg board part off the tv and you'll see them around the edge of the screen.

Although sometimes it may work to place the emitter in there, I've had circumstances where I've had to mount a VCR 'mouse' style emitter infront and just below the screen. So it's pointing up into the screen for it to work properly.

I just removed the front speaker panel then removed the screen itself. Then remove one of the plugs that the speaker grill uses to attach and ran the emitter through that hole. You will be able to see the IR receiver towards the middle facing the mirror. Works great for me as mine is in a cabinet with a frame so that the only thing that shows is the screen anyway!
