What is the best way to connect a subwoofer that has only one low level input? My recevier has two outputs. Which one should I use?

What do you mean? A normal surround receiver (digital) has one low-level output for subwoofer (also called .1 channel or LFE), so no confusion should arise from that.

If you are talking about a stereo amp instead with no dedicated sub output, I don't know the best way to connect, but probably you could just take one of the two outputs, as the bass information is (probably) pretty similar in both channels (OK, experts can hit me now...)

If it is two sub outputs on the back of a receiver then you can use either/or or you can use a y adapter and connect both to the sub. It is suggested that you do this if you have two outputs. Those doubters out there I read it in the Sound and Vision Magazine.

So a two male to one female Y adapter and a Sub rated Male to Male RCA cable.
