I have found the service menu for Sony DVD players.

It is either or of this:
Time Clear Power

or

Title Clear Power

If anybody knows what each thing in this service menu does I would appreciate knowing.

Here's some info on the service menu for the S360 model - don't know if it's the same for other models:

Syscon Diagnosis = Leave this for service technicians.
Drive Auto Adjustment = Automatically calibrates DVDs and CDs.
Drive Manual Operation = Manually calibrates DVDs and CDs with prompts for permission to skip, execute and/or proceed after each adjustment is made or skipped. Offers a fascinating look at all of the many adjustments made, but this method is time consuming.
Mecha Aging = Allows auto repeat mode for testing purposes.
Emergency History = Shows the number of hours on your machine.
Version Information = Shows firmware version.
Video Level Adjustment = Test pattern.

You can also order the service manaul at:
Sony Electronics Inc.
World Repair Parts Center
8281 N.W. 107th
Terrace Kansas City, MO 64153 USA
(800) 488-7669 (USA Only) -or- (800) 345-7669

Good luck,
Rob

I have a DVP 735 S and in my service menu there is a SACD option in there. (The lpayer does not play SACD standard).

Anybody got any info on whether things can be adjusted in there to play SACD ? Why would Sony have SACD text/info in the service menu if the lpayer did not have the capability (advertisied or not) ??

Thanks

Yea on mine I have a SACD options but I think it is just for testing. Not sure if mine or yours can play SACD. Most likely will be stereo only though if it does work.

Where can I get a SACD? Anybody know!
