I get this ghosting effect from my DVD on my TV It happens when somebody on the screen walks in frot of a bright sky on something like it. There is a darked spot right above their heads. If I turn down the brighness control and picture control on the on the menu on my DVD player (sony 850 Changer) then I halp eliviate it. But any of the factory setting on my DVD player it will happen. My TV is less than two years old Toshiba Theater wide 61". Any suggestions. I'm using a Monster sv3 8meter cable

Jeb, my first impression is that it is a monitor defect. (Warranty?) If it does this with more than one source, it's 99% likely. To be sure, try the 'direct' approach: plug a source, like DVD, directly into the monitor. If it still happens, that's gotta be it. The last step is to try the same source on another TV.
