This is more of a dist audio question than home theater but here it goes. We have installed 2 fairly large Bose built invisible distributed audio systems (amps hang in the closet). Although the installations has gone very well, the end result was that the audio was not quite that spectacular. The last install includes 1 102 (3 room) extension amp, an acoutimass (2 room) amp, and 2 SA1 amps, all driving the Bose in wall/in ceiling speakers from a lifestyle 50 theater and a seperate CD-20 unit.

The problem is in the mid to high range, it needs a little tweaking but these amps offer no adjustment. Has anyone ever tried installing an equalizer between the source and the amps? Tech support did not recommend it and said the amps have a built in eq's that is preset from the factory for maximum sound. OK.?

Jeff-
These kind of problems just sound like typical Bose issues. To many Bose sounds fine, but to others it just simply doesn't have the depth of sound.

My simple suggestion would be to experiment with other brands. After all, the ultimate test is what it sounds like to you and your client.

I think it's going to be difficult to get spectacular
high frequency response from a 3.5" paper cone. That's
the problem with the wonderful cube units. No dedicated
tweeter.

Well, look at it this way, the Bose use midrange drivers, and they have poor midrange.
