Check this out: It is a replacement for TiVo, and the "X-Box" with broadband. Thought it was interesting. [Link: pcformat.co.uk]Don

Um, Microsoft, Windows, non-upgradeable, sealed box, profile the users activities back to Microsoft, targeted advertising. So far, I haven't seen anything that I like.
P.S. What is a "stonking hard drive"?

I just don't think it will be long before M$ gets there hands into the Home Theater market. From the way I understand it, this product will be a cross between the replay TV 4000, and the X box.

I'm a Mac Evangelist myself, Larry (have been since 1984..... see no reason to change, every reason to continue), but condescended to using PC's because of certain programs that don't run on the Mac (or as efficiently).
But, if Microsoft "takes over the world", no one will want to be prying your Mac out of your cold, dead hands! Obviously, they'll just want to bury it with you!!! ;-)
Let us pray that the moment never comes! Even WindowsXP is still missing key features of the FIRST release of the Mac OS back in 1984.
And any comparison to OS 9, never mind OSX is ludicrous!
... Greg :-)

Greg, I must confess that I, too, have stooped to the depths to use Win-doze, as I have VirtualPC on my Mac. The number one reason is because I am addicted to playing Minesweeper and Freecell. Also, my fiance is a PC user, and we have our 'puters networked via the hub we use for the DSL we share, so we can share files.
Anyone familiar with Mac knows that Macs normally use one-button mice, and Minesweeper is best played with two-button mice for double-button clicking. I get around that because I have a multi-button optical mouse (Microsoft Explorer), and I managed to program buttons so I have the right-button capability while in PC mode.
Has this suddenly become a computer forum? :-)

Well, Larry, don't forget that Home Theater can and does many times include the PC, so a discussion of the OS isn't too far out of line! ;-)
