I thought this might be interesting for those of you who have been looking for something like this in the past.

It is a customized DVD that you can use in your HT to have the intro like you might see at a theater.

I like the idea, but for $90 U.S. I can do my own a lot cheaper.... well, except for burning the DVD... !

Now, if one were a Mac user, that would be so easy!

Me too!
Is there software that does that? Or do you just click through a lot of threads copying addresses?

Ken,

Yes, there is software that does that. Some people call them bots, other people call them spiders. But they basically do the same thing, scan a web page and get info from it. Some bots do shopping (like all the shopping comparison sites), and others grab email addresses. Ever since I started coming to remotecentral.com, klipsch.com and hometheaterforum.com, my hotmail inbox has filled up with junk mail. At first I thought maybe they were selling their email lists, but then I realized most of these sites wouldn't do that, and people are probably using bots to gather that data. It's cheaper for them, and no one knows they are doing it.

That's the price you gotta pay to be on the internet. That's why I use a hotmail account on these forums - I just turn on the junkmail filter and don't worry about it.

I don't think this mailing was done via a bot. The email I got was sent to me individually and the text was addressed to 'Doug'.

I hit the MaxBulk link, and, lo and behold, it immediately downloaded and unstuffed. Took about 30 seconds (love that DSL!)

I'll have to check it out later, tho.
