I just installed the CX-870D 301 DVD changer from Sony and, when trying to do a "movie listing" in my 5000i remote, I need to be able to send commmands to the changer that effectively say "Select disc XXX, play" but I can't seem to find an easy way of doing the first part. The menu system for the 870 requires you to hit the DISPLAY button, then the OK button for DISC, then enter in the disc number, then hit OK, and then DISPLAY three times to get back to a clear screen. Based on what state the changer is in at the time alters the timing of this pattern and, so far, I have been less then sucessful at coming up with a macro that works all the time. Anyone know a command that would allow me to do something like DISC, XXX, OK, without all the other crap?

This sounds like something for the SuperNudelist tool. Try to serach the Pronto/RC5000 forum on this site for further information.

I have a CDP CX860. I use Leo's Supernudelist to create my movie list. In order for SNL to work a before and after command is required
Here is what I use. It works about 90 - 95% of the time.

Doug,

Appreciate the response.

The before and after commands are similar to what I have been trying but am going to take a stab at your timing sequence.

Not familiar with SNL but I am going to look into it.

Thanks again,

Nick
