Hi,

I’m planning to upgrade my home theater system. The dealer here has given me 2 configurations to choose from:

System 1:
Linn AV 5103 System controller -
Linn AV 5125 Power amplifier ( 5ch ) –

Linn Ninka ( front loudspeakers ) –
Linn Ninka ( rear loudspeakers ) –
Linn Trikan Centre Channel –

REL Storm III Active subwoofer –

System 2:
Proceed AVP Audio Video preamplifier –
Proceed AMP 5 Power amplifier –

Revel Performa F30 loudspeaker ( Front ) –
Revel Performa C30 Centre channel loudspeaker –
Revel Performa S30 Surround speakers –

REL Storm III Subwoofer -

I would be using my Arcam DVD FMJ DV27 and Philips TV 36PW9525 with one of the above systems. Later on I’m planning to get a SIM2 Grand Cinema (HT 200) projector

I would appreciate if anyone can comment on the 2 systems above.

Thanks
Sepehr

Robert,

I would appreciate if you could explain why you think I should go with Proceed.

Thanks

Hi Sepehr,

I've installed many an AV5103 system, and can only say that it is a fantastic sounding set-up, if installed correctly.
Without having experience of the Proceed, I can't comment, although one of the guys I used to work with has started specifying Proceed on his installs as well as Linn...
You're best option is to go and listen to both systems extensively before buying, as it's only your decision that matters!

I have yet to audition the Linn products, but I highly recommend the Proceed/Revel set-up. Madrigal has previously promised and delivered software upgrades to accomodate for consumer and market demands. Madrigal can and will be offering HARDWARE upgrades as well. You cannot be outdated with the AVP processor. Highly recommended.
