Here is a problem that has perplexed me in trying to set up macros.
The only way that I know to change video inputs on my Mitsu WS-55857 (Digital HD) is to use the remote to scroll thru all the choices till I get to the one I want.
i.e. if I want to go from SAT input to DVD input, I might need 4 "clicks" on the remote input button to get to DVD. That creates a real problem with a "DVD" macro: I can easily program the 4 "clicks," BUT that only works if I am "coming from" the SAT input. If I happen to be "coming from" LASER or VCR input, I will NOT wind up on DVD. (I hope that this is reasonably clear - it is a little hard to explain.)
Does anyone have any ideas as to how can I assure that my "DVD macro" will ALWAYS deliver me to the DVD input, regardless of what input I start on?
Thanks.

Bob her is a quick fix. You need to have a starting point. Try macro channel 03 or sometimes 003 first. Then have it macro and count the number of input it has to go. Here is an example input 1=DVD, Input 2=SAT, Input 3=VCR. ECT. Write your macro like this to do VCR. when you press the VCR button it will look like this:

0
0
3
input
input
input

for DVD:

0
0
3
input.

Also Mits. TV's have the ability to turn off unused input to shorten the amount of times you have to cycle through input to get back to where you started. Also you might want to do 0.5 delays in between each command.

This is the way I do it. Don't claim it is the best way but it seems to work very very well. I stole this Idea from the way a Niles Intellicontrol does it.

Good luck

I had the same problem with a Sony TV, you need a starting point that is consistent everytime you turn on the TV to begin the input cycle. On a sony TV if you press the channel up button (when tv is any input) it forces the tv back to the tuner setting. From here you program in the number of "clicks" to cycle to the proper input. Like Larry's response, not the most scientific but it works.

Bob-

If you go to the discrete codes section of this site, both Mitsu and Sony TV have direct input codes to jump right to any input:

Ken & Larry-

You guys need to hang around the Pronto forum more!

If you can't get to a starting point easily like Larry (above) suggests, or there are no descrete codes for selecting the correct input, here's what I do:

I use a "fix-up" button macro to get me back to the input used most often....my starting point, which in my case is the "Antenna/Cable" input. Your's might be "SAT" or something similar.

For any video device I want to use, I have a macro that changes the TV input from "Antenna/Cable" to the specific input needed. Then, from any device panel I'm using(ie. DVD, VCR, etc.), I place a button that is labeled "Done?". When I'm finished with that device (like after watching a DVD), I click on "Done?" and it then runs a macro that reverses the input selection back to "Antenna/Cable" and returns me back to the remote's home page. I do the same thing with all video devices.

This works really well. The only thing you have to remember is to always end your viewing session back at your starting point...the most often used input. This is great ease of use for anyone, and is exceptionally useful for those that want to kick the system to death because they can't ever seem to sync up the video with the sound.

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!! I posted this very problem (except my TV is a Panasonic) to the Pronto forum and no one told me anything. I didn't even think to make the TV up channel to cahnge back to the TV input and then cycle through from there.

Thanks a million
