I was wondering if anyone here might know the problem that I am having with my reciever. In Dolby mode "DTS,DD,Prologic" I am not get a test tone to my subwoofer"LFE" channel. I am not able to adjust the treble and bass either. I took the reciever to United audio"Denon auth" maintanance center. The gentleman said it was bad output transisters that he replaced. I picked up the unit, hooked everything back up and same problem still exists. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Do you have your speakers set to small? Or do you have the sub set to on (LFE + Main) if your speakers are large? How do you have your sub set up and your speakers? What connections are you using.

Also, when you say you can't adjust the bass and treble, do you mean that you can see the controls but they don't do anything, or do you mean that you can't find the controls to do it? Are you talking about adjusting them for the LFE channel, because you can't adjust them for that channel.

I have the 3801 and the controls are part of the parameters screen for the sound mode you are in. You have to hit the left arrow key after selecting tone, and then you can adjust the bass and treble with the arrow keys.

I have all speakers set to small and the sub set to yes and normal. When I try to set the tone for bass and treble I see that the treble and bass can be adjusted but no tonal difference. ALso, in Doble mode DD DTS PRO I cant get the test tone to sound in the subwoofer. I sent it to United Radio and the guy replaced the output transisters but this didnt fix the problem . I dont want to have to send the unit out to California because I wont have it for a long time I'm afraid. thanks

I don't know! Weird problem - maybe your sub out is bad, or your sub is bad. Do you get anything out of your sub at any time?

I definitely get level tones out of my sub, but again I use a 3801 and can't say for sure how yours would operate. Why not talk to who you bought it from? Or did you buy it from an online retailer who won't have a clue? You could try the Denon website - they have a whole bunch of FAQ's that could help you out.

If you are getting no sound on the sub look carefully at the connectors on the back of the receiver and the labeling that goes with it, there was a msg some weeks ago with the same problem (on a 3801) and it turned out he had plugged the cable into the wrong socket it should have been the one next to it. I have the 3801 and you need to check the labeling carefully

I don't have the 1801 but I think a friend has one. I will try and get the manual to double check for you.

Sorry Ryan but my mate only has the 1601 so I have no access to any manuals etc

Maybe someone else who has the 1801 can confirm which connectory they are using for the sub

Ryan,

Sorry this message is so late, you have probably fixed your problem by now.

I have the 1801 and have had no problems with test tones. Looking at my manual, it is indeed the bottom left preout for the sub "if" you are facing the back panel.

Good Luck
