I've heard that the CO2 might actually work, but due to delivery problems when I needed one, I tried another similar product (I forgot the product name), and it didn't really work. It converted the signal, but apparently introduced bit errors in the digital stream resulting in hick-ups in the sounds. I decided to change the DVD-player, so I wouldn't need a product like this.

Well, it seems it would could if you didn't have a reciever that doesn't have optical in. I myself just use the optical connection, but my friend bought the convertor and it works great.
