There used to be a 5000 which had an add-on to make it HD. This would be an inferior product, though. And you'd have to find it used. Otherwise, yes.
There is a HD-PVR in the works perhaps called the 921. This should be out around the time my 3 year old retires.

DBS Forums ( [Link: dbsforums.com]) would be the place in the know for this. I thought I read that the dual-tuner PVR (921 or 721?) would be HD and would be out next year. This message was edited by Andrea Whitlock on 09/26/01 16:48.21.
