Help!, i have a Dishplayer and an ultimatetv on the same room, the problem is that the ultimatetv works with both remotes (ultimate and dishplayer remotes) and dishplayer works only with its own remote (... i think ultimate is working with both frequencies), so when i change channel or do something with the dishplayer the ultimates do the same. I need a way to tell the ultimatetv to not work with the dishplayer remote and work only with its own remote.

Any ideas????

A lot of sat receivers allow you to change remote address frequencies. Not sure if either of those can do that..

I think the address change only works with the UHF remotes, although I am able to change the address of my 2700 dish rec., but after that I can only use the 4700's remote to operate it, in which case I guess neither will help you. Has anyone with a dishplayer ever tried to change the IR address with a blue button type of remote like the one that comes with a 4700 rec.? I wonder if it allows you to do it like the 2700 does.

Hi There,

Believe it or not, silly putty is your answer. Just put some silly putty over the IR receiver that you don't want to use and you'll be set!

There isn't a way to change the frequencies on your remote control :-)

Hello-
I'm looking at a Hughes DirecTV receiver only because on their web site it says "8 receiver addresses" under the universal remote control section. It is an infared remote. Check it out!!

What does that mean?? Will that do what we need??
