Just recently installed a Direct TV system to replace a digital cable system. With all setting being the same as the digital setup (ie. receiver settings) the bass with Direct TV is very strong. Is there a setting in the Direct TV system to adjust this? Otherwise it would be a drag to adjust the receiver each time I swith between Direct TV and DVD or CD.

Thanks Ken

Are you using the Dolby Digital AC-3 digital audio output? If so, it's possible that you are "doubling up" the bass by using both the ".1" bass enhancement channel of the AC-3 system and your regular speakers.
I'm not familiar with all the possible settings of your particular setup (I don't even know what other components you have), but this is a place to look if you have "extra" bass.

I have only a basic DSS box. S-Video out and RCA sound. But Direct TV produces very load bass. I have to adjust the bass down when watching DSS and back up again for DVD or CD. Is there any way to change this?
