Mitsu is shipping their HD400/500 series tuners. It does carry Dolby 5.1. Also for those that have the 99 models (WS65903, etc) the web site www.mitsubishi-tv.com is carrying the adapter for any HD tuner to plug in for $300. even though the site says they will guarentee HD compatability for all old sets for free they are charging.

They do guarantee compatibility. For a compatible fee of 300 dollars. I asked about this months ago on how it would work on the older tvs and I guess now I see the problem. I cannot quite figure what the deal quite is with needing the 15 pin control cable other than the fact that it was to control the HD1080 using the tv controller. I have no access to an older TV or I would try the Panasonic TUHDS20 on it. I will certainly look into this. Brings to mind another TV with the same control cable. Sony also used it on their 34 inch HDTV, the KW-34HD1.

Pepper Pike. OH. I am writing to the Pres of Mitsu trying to get credit. It flys in the face of the press release on thier web. It came on Wed. The cables are very high quality as is the piece itself.
