Hey, I'm glad I found this board...maybe now I can get some real answers about the questions from people who actually use the equipment.

My question is this, are the Terk Antennas (the ones that wrap around the dish) actually decent? Reason being, I have found several different packages in my area:

1) A dual LNB dish and two recievers, installed, for 170.00.

2) A DirectPlus dish and three recievers for 240.00.

I can pick up my local affiliates with the directplus dish, but the downside is that I have to pay bigger bucks to have someone install it. With the 170.00 package, I would still need to pick up another reciever (I can get that for about 80.00 locally) and then pay for the third reciever install. (Installing it myself is NOT an option....I'm not anywhere near handy) But then I'm thinking that I probably will have to pay for a splitter and then still have to figure out how I'm going to get local channels (there is no regular antenna on my roof, and my cable company does not offer simple network television services).

Help please!

Pay the money for the 240 package and have local on the sat, it's so easy to use that way. I luckily live in LA where we don't need a different dish and I get my local on directv. And you did say it has the third box already. How much more is install?

Install prices for the three reciever setup are around $400.00 additional. (at least that's what I've been quoted by Radioshack and Circuit City. No one else in my area (baltimore md) seems to be able to quote an install price without me purchasing the unit from them. )

I found the above kit online, at www.needadish.com. It was actually just a Philips dish and 5250 reciever for $50.00, and then 200.00 additional for the two extra recievers (although, if I can mix and match the recievers I can pick up some hughes or rca recievers for less than $100)
