Echostar 4922 Sound problem...

Hi,

I have an Echostar 4922 SAT receiver connected to a Marantz SR-5000 through a Monster optical cable.

What is happening is frequently when I change channels the sound will just stop working and I have to 'reset'the SAT receiver by going into the dolby digital setup menu and selecting PCM ONLY. Then the sound starts working again and I can go back and select DOBLY DIGITAL/PCM. I can also reset it by removing the access card and re-inserting it.

The sound problems are very intermittent. It could work for hours after resetting it, or only minutes. There are no particular channels that cause it to stop either.

Has anyone experienced anything like this before? I have followed a few other threads and have seen one where people are talking about problems with a particular Yamaha receiver and a Sony SAT receiver using an optical cable and having problems with the sound temporary cutting in and out.

Thanks,

Scott
