I can't seemed to find the FAQ for this forum. So forgive me if this has been covered.
My Reciever Yamaha RX-V496 directions state to connect my cable line to the SAT/D-TV input which is a RCA type jack. Thinking that all I needed to do was purchased a Cable to RCA converter. But as you know that does not work. My question is why?
My other problem is my S-VCR can't see any channel if it is conected after the Cable box. Again, another why is that so?
Thanks!!!!

You cannot connect your coaxial cable to your Yamaha receiver's SAT/D-TV input. What you need to do is Connect your Coaxial cable entering your house into your cable box, and than you can take the video out RCA type jack of the cable box and coonect that to your receiver. If your cable box does not have video RCA type jack out, than you can connect the incomming cable to your TV coaxial input, and video out RCA type jack of the TV to the receiver. Will also need more info on how your S-VCR is connected to answer that question.
