I have Tivo and the sat a50 connected. The phone line is connected to only tivo as outlined in manual. This causes my sat system not to dial up for updates to DirecTV. the result is that I can't get PPV unless I reconnect the phone to sat, request an update, and wait 24 hours. Then I am good for another couple of months at which time I have to do this all over again. I have tried a phone line splitter and connecting both units but Tivo will not dial with this set up. Does anyone else have the same problem? Am I overlooking something?

you are good for a couple of months because your receiver can only hold about 20 ppv movies, then it won't let you order anymore. that means that when direct tv is trying to dial your receiver they can't get through. check your phoneline again, thats the problem
