The DVDO has the ability to clear up this type of problem pretty well.
Do other with dishplayer have this problem.??
Probably, but it is also a function of you TV, as to the severity of it...
Here is a copy of the post I had left.. If it sounds Like you.. It should help out.
Hi Jay,
you posted a response to one of my questions on remotecentral and mentioned
the iscan. Being new to this , my question is what exactly is the iscan
going to buy me. Now I know it will increase the picture quality of videos
etc, but will it do the same for dvd. Also, how would you go about
connecting your cable box. Any insight would be greatly appreciated,
thanks in advance.
Sure thing,
Yes you can tell the difference with DVD's I was surprised the first time I hooked one up.. Don't expect to be blown away, but if you look, you will see a dramatic difference... I will run both the composite video, and the component video to a new set, so I can toggle between them. A good way to see a major dif on a dvd is to select a dvd menu with pictures, graphics, black screen etc.. The screen is still without being paused, and you can really pick out the changes. On the component video.. In fact you can do this now on any TV.. Look at the black ... dancing fuzz throughout. The contrasting edges.. They blur into each other.. On matrix, there is green between the letters on the menu, and sort of a greenish streaked fog on some pictures... On the DVDO component video, the black is solid SOLID.. No shakes.. NO fuzz etc.. The edges don't crawl nearly as much, and the blur is removed from contrasting edges... On the matrix.. The green between the letters is much more contained and purposeful. the green streaked fog? More like wide band laser streaks.. You can and will see the difference..
Hooking up to cable? Well, I you don't have a composite out, such as on the digital cable boxes, you can tune regular channels through your VCR and use the component video out that way.. There are a number of ways to convert your cable signal, but this way you don't have to buy more.. The DVDO has some pretty cool features on it, and will accept a composite, component, and S-Video input. The S-Video is great for bringing in a sat. Rcvr, as it will be converted anyhow.. A super easy product to hook up and use.. A good investment for good TV's.. The best out there? no.. But unless you have an image greater than 70+" I doubt you could tell the dif. Happy hunting.
