I have a DirecTV HR10-250 HD DVR that uses TIVO software (I'm told) ... and an older Phillips DirecTV TIVO recorder. Both sit next to each other on a shelf, and I need to control them separately with their remotes, without having one remote interfere with the other receiver...

I have found out how to set the Remote Address ID for the older Phillips DirecTV receiver (which uses a black remote shaped like a peanut" ... but cannot find anything about how to set the white "Universal DirecTV Remote" that came w. the HR10-250 ... and DirecTV Tech Support doesn't have a clue either. When I look under the DirecTV Menu / Setup / System Settings I see a Remote Address for the HR10-250 receiver ... but it just says "Not Set (0)" ... so it must have the Remote ID Address feature.

Help!!! (and thanks in advance!!)

Sorry, but the only address in the white remote is address "0". Meaning it will control All peanut driven tivos no matter what address they're set to. The white remote isn't the original remote for the 10-250.

You can use the philips remote to set the 10-250 to alternate address, different from the philips tivo uses.

And until you get a second peanut remote or a universal that'll control more then one tivo, you can use the lone peanut remote you have to control both tivo independently, but you might find it a hassle switching back and forth from one address to the other. To switch addresses on the fly, you press and hold DTV key & Pause, enter #1 or #2.
