I recently bought a new DirecTV HD DVR to replace my Samsung HD Recv'r. Everything was working ok, but now I can't get my MX850 to work with the new recv'r. I noticed an IR plug on the back of the box, but I am used to only sticking the IR tab to the IR panel and plugging it into the 300...still no luck. Also, does anyone have the IR code for this combo?

The IR connection on the Tivo is an output, it will not help you. I don't think it even works as an output, a vaporware feature. Stick an IR emitter on the shelf right in front of the Tivo's IR receiver, that works the best.
Why would you need an IR code? You can teach the MX-850 every command in 5 minutes. It'll take longer than that to find the code. But, you can use any Tivo code if you want. There might be a couple buttons missing, which you can teach it.
