I watch TV using headphones after my wife goes to sleep. We just switched to Adelphia from DTV. With the new setup, when I turn the TV off there is a loud electornic noise coming from something (I think the Scientific Atalntic box), which wakes my wife up.
Anyone aware of why this might be happening and how I can disable it ?

No idea what could be causing this when the system is *off*. Try to pin the source down closer.
