Has anyone found a site for info on the 22khz switching that the dual lnb (2 heads) new dishes use? Curious to find out about levels of signal, will it go through regular voltage switches, etc... and what about the splitters and other taps that are only good down to 5mhz... will it pass through or ....?
So far haven't needed to use more than the four taps they come with... Have some future needs...
Thanks

Well, got an answer from the good folks at Channel Master. Here's a page that explains a little
[Link: cmnc.com]
The tech I spoke with explained it like this: the 22khz switch, the one that comes with the dual head dish, is as far as you can distribute the 22khz switching signal. What this means is, if you want to run more than 4 sets, you buy another 22khz switch, then split the 4 downleads from the 2 LNBs with satellite grade 2way splitters (thats four 2way splitters) and connect to the 2nd 22khz switch. And, of course, be sure to use the right flavor of 2way, in this example, diode steered, so you don't run into power problems, and keep all leads going to their respective inputs (A13volt to A13volt, etc). This also means more downleads or runs to the new switch, probably, depending on your layout. Gets busy in a hurry!

the reason that channel master told you this is that is all they make. Companies like spaun can do it far more elegantly and more output ports.

Who is spaun? Channel Master makes a four output 22khz switch, Sony makes one, too, but they don't seem to want to sell it as a seperate item. If you know of another source, would appreciate the data.
Thanks

Called Channel Vision, had 4, 6, and 8 output port models, but pricey. The Channel Master 4 port model is about one third as much. Asked them to send me some info anyway to if I'm missing something in the specs or why they're so much more.
Thanks
