Hello all,
I have a change to by a JVC TU4500DU at a great price. My only problem is I dont know much about this one. Can I use it with my Dolby Digital Home System? Is there anything I should be worried about?

I couldn't find too much information on it, but it doesn't look like it can output a Dolby Digital signal.

Thanks Daniel,
I found out it needs an adapter that fits in the "high speed" port. I assume that means the data port. The adapter costs $70. Any idea where I could find such a thing for less.

Duke the high speed data port is only for servicing your unit by a qualified service technician and has absolutely nothing to do with Dolby Digital output port. Either you have a Dolby Digital out port or you don't, both will work with your home theater system fine but if you want to hear it in Dolby Digital you have to buy one with a Dolby Digital output port.

Hey Jeff (Thank you for responding),

Do you know anything about this "adapter" and where it might fit? I am really new to all this so if my questions seem immature please forgive me. I don’t think this receiver has a DD out, but if I understand, this adapter solves that. If I find the web site I will post a link.

The port adapter might be a correct assumption.
In my case, I have Dish Network receiver 5000 and the digital audio goes out using an adapter that goes in the high speed port.

Okay Duke - there you go. Ulises seems to have a better grip on the Dish Network stuff than I do. My experience is with the DTV stuff and I assumed wrongly that they were similar. Looks like you were right all along. Sorry - for posting BS.
