Is there any brands of multiswitches that are more reliable than the others, I am mainly looking for the brands to stay away from. I am looking at Channelmaster, Steren, RCA, DLS, and Eagle Aspen. Anyone with any good/bad stories?

I believe ChannelMaster makes the multiswitch for the RCA DTC-100 DTV receiver. I saw no degradation in picture quality. You would hope RCA selected this brand because of consistent manufacturing quality, rather than lowest cost-basis. The switch does have good fit and finish.
