Can anyone help. I am trying to get the SL-9000 to work my Philips dsx5353 Satellite receiver. The only thing it does is turn the unit on and off.
The SL-9000 works everything else i have but not the sat.
Please help i and at my wits end. This is the 5th remote i have tried.
Thank you
Harry

The next in a series of questions designed to convince people to supply more information when asking for help:

Harry, you quietly drop a BIG HINT, with no explanation, at the end of your post.

What other remotes have you tried? Was it five other of the same model, or different models?

Did you have EXACTLY the same results?

Can you take one of these remotes to the store where you bought the receiver and try it out on their receiver?

What? you bought it over the internet and have nobody to talk to about it?

well, if that is the case, can you go to a store that carries the same model and try your remote there?

Does the factory remote work perfectly?

Did you use the learning capability of any of these remotes? When you taught commands to these different remotes, did the learning process appear to work the same with the receiver codes as with the other codes you taught?

Is the Philips receiver substantially newer than the remote control? If so, you might have to teach most commands to it: the codes could be new.

Have you located the manufacturer and sent them an email about it? Google.com is GREAT for quickly finding information and manufacturers. I just took 90 seconds and went to Google. The first two responses are reviews on this site. The third resonse is the manufacturer.

Sorry to hammer so hard, but this stuff is mysterious to us, too, if we do not have enough info to go on.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.
