I need a DVHS deck to record hidef. Problem is I have no devices with a firewire IEEE1394 output. Is there any device available that will convert HD component YPrPb or RGB signals to IEEE1394? Any information on this would be helpful.

Thanks

Joe

No. Current HD signals through component video are analog, already decoded from the HD digital signal. Firewire carries the original digital signal. You need to have HD sources with Firewire outs or you are wasting your time with the DVHS.

Almost nobody can record HDTV at this time, so don't feel left out if you have a hard time arranging it at your house.
