Hello. I just purchased a dct100. I have read that it converts all incoming signals to 540p.I will be hooking it up to an Epson 51c projector via the 15 pin connector. I will also have a outside ant. for OTA HDTV. I have a VCR to hook up and a DVD player with component output. Do I still need the DVDO? If I hook up the DVD player with an S cable, will it convert the signal to 540p? Any help on hooking this setup, would be GREATLY appreciated. My System consist of;
Denon 3801
Epson 51c
Hitachi vcr
Phillips dvd player
rca dtc-100
Thanking you in advance, Richard

Roach, I believe with S video the DTC-100 outputs 480I. My pioneer RPTV then converts that to 480P. The DTC-100 upconverts to 540P when watching SD through VGA. SD looks like kaka through VGA on the DTC-100. You should always have S video hooked up for SD on it and just use the VGA for HD. I don't think you will be happy with just VGA to the PJ.

SD=Standard definition

What you probably watch 90% of the time. Cable,Non HD Sat.

What you need is called a transcoder. It will take component and output VGA. They make them the other way also VGA in and component out so make sure you get the correct one.

Key Digital and Audio Authority a couple places that make them.
