Any recommendations on a widescreen tv that HAS discrete codes?

What is the best unit that has a DirecTV and local HDTV receiver and supports discrete power on and off codes?

I have tried the Panasonic HDS20 but I am unable to find discrete power on and off codes for it. The fan is also very loud.

I have also tried the RCA DTC 100 but it uses the same codes as the RCA UltimateTV (I have 2 RCA UTVS one in normal one in AUX mode.)

Thanks
JSL

That's a tough one. I was going to recommend the DTC-100, but you've already ruled that out. The only other HD receiver I can think of is the Sony HD-100. Though I've heard a lot of bad things about the HD-100 (overheating and warping the card, and dying in the first 2 weeks).

Another option would be to use a Xantech "Gatekeeper" IR routing system. That way all the receivers could be RCA and you would still have independant control of each receiver.

Just a thought,

JJP

JSL,

I'd use the Zenith no fan
get the new "c" LNB kit for 110 slot SHOWTIME HD end of April
HD DTV receivers RCA DTC 100, Sony HD-100 card melter w/fan without fan who knows? Panasonic TUHDS20 w/wake to fan alarm, with power off unit will turn on fan for a few seconds then shuts down. Must be to prevent card from melting,
Hughes w/ RF remote, smaller box NO FAN also makes similar unit for Toshiba & Mits. Finally Korean owned Zenith HD1080 Hot! and the card is cool.....

Good luck,

Steve

Is the Zenith discreet? I didn't think it was?
