I have a Sony A55 sat receiver and a Sunfire Theater Grand II Processor w/ an ATI 6 channel amp that is getting a humming noise in the system. Everyone I talked to says it's a ground loop problem, but I don't believe it is after troubleshooting for quite some time.
Scenario: ONLY the sat receiver is connected via the s-video and composite video outputs to the Sunfire inputs. No Coax is connected to the sat rec and I still get noise, even if the sat rec is in a totally different plug (circuit).
Any ideas where the noise is coming from? I even tried another sat receiver.

Scott, have you found any disconnection that will stop the hum? All other components disconnected? Unplugging the sat receiver help? Flipping any power plug that is not polarized? Does the hum vary with volume changes? Tried a ground adapter to temporarily power any component with the ground pin not connected at the receptacle?
