Does anyone have some real world experience with the Terk TV-55 HD helicoild coil amplified stick antenna. I plan to mount under a window on the second floor of a house approx 25 miles from the broadcast antennas. According to the antennaweb.com site and the mfg info it should give a strong signal yet I would appreciate input from those familiar with it. Normally, I would go with a good UHF antenna on a rotor yet I am unable to do so in this house.

Paul, if it were me, I'd consider mounting the stick in the attic. The signal gain from the extra height should be more than worth the loss from it going through the roof. Unlike a sat dish, with an antenna, height is everything.

I mounted the Terk under a second story window and the signal is great. I get all the HD and SD channels I was expecting and so far the signals are solid. The Terk was easy to install, can mount it in out-of-the-way locations etc. I would get another one.

I bought a Terk TV55 and only pulled in 2 of the digital OTA stations in my area (Los Angeles). I sold the Terk and ordered a Winegard GS-1000. It's about the same size and did MUCH better at pulling in the digital OTA stations. Now I get every station available from LA.
