Hi,
I inherited an old surround sound system. A Panasonic SA-HT70. It didn't have a remote, so I bought an RCRPS06GR in hopes of being able to use it. The problem is, the system is set on a sound setting only utilizing two speakers instead of the whole surround sound, and there's not a button to engage that on the remote I bought.
Is there a way to program in "engage surround sound" into a button?
I looked at a thread about how to program in EFC codes, but the remote I bought doesn't seem to have a "setup" button that the thread says to press to activate the programming mode.
Any ideas? Should I return the remote and get a different one? I'm not looking to spend a lot of money on a fancy remote for an old sound system.
Thanks, Jeff

The RCA RCRP05B (available at Amazon) will accept EFCs, and can be programmed to work with the Panasonic. Do bear in mind that Panasonic used a lot of subdevice numbers depending on the HT system, so it may take a few tries to get the correct EFC.
