Hi!

I have a SIIG Vista MCE USB Remote Control dongle on my HTPC. I'm also repeating the IR signal through a Xantech repeater and a harmony remote. I'm having a heck of a time trying to get the blasters lined up properly, and it seems to be spotty.

I was wondering if I could pop open the dongle, solder some wires to the IR sensor and turn it into a 3.5mm jack, which could be plugged directly into the xantech control box.

Likewise, could you do the same to a directv receiver for their IR sensor?

Thanks!
