OK, I need to have my HR2400 controlled via RF and able to be used in two different rooms. Reason is I have a HDMI splitter on the output side and I'm feeding my big screen in the family room and the 22" Sammy on the wall of the kitchen. So I can use the kitchen remote set to RF to change channels and do whatever on the D*TV receiver in the other room and also control my Samsung, and leave that remote in the kitchen and use the other identical remote set to RF in the Family Room. Worked fine with my old HR20 which is now upstairs in our bedroom.

So the new HR2400 works fine feeding both sets that was easy. It came with a RC65RX so I bought a second brand new one. Now I want to program the new remote and I know there's some special codes and buttons to push to get it to work with this specific receiver. Anyone want to either list the procedure or point me to the URL where there's a step-by-step procedure.

Aside from this, I tried to program the working RF remote with my Samsung's code, but it said it can't be programmed. Didn't understand that since the remote for the HR20 accepted the code that was listed and worked fine. Is there a workaround for Samsung TVs?

leave the receiver and first rf remote alone, just do the following on the second rf remote:

1. dtv
2. press and hold MUTE & SELECT, wait for two blinks, release
3. enter 0 0 0 0 1
4. press and hold MUTE & SELECT, wait for two blinks, release
5. enter 9 6 1
6. press CH UP
7. enter last 6 digits of Receiver ID #(RID), found on a sticker in the access card compartment
8. press SELECT

Thanks guys... actually you both helped. Edmund... Got the second remote programmed so it works from the kitchen perfect. Then followed djy's link and read through the programming for a TV. Oddly enough, using the on-screen method didn't work, tried it 5 times. So I used the manual method and it worked first time!

Thanks for the help. Now when I get a chance I have to tweak my AR remote in the FR that should be able to handle everything!
