I have 2 TVs (living room and bedroom) and 2 Motorola/Comcast DVRs.
I want to use 2 HDMI splitters and connect both DVRs to each TV e.g., DVR1 to HDMI1 inputs and DVR2 to HDMI2 inputs. Using IR repeaters I can control (and view) both DVRs whichever TV I am using.
However, there is one crucial thing I don’t know how to do: all the commands from the remote control will reach both DVRs. Is there a way to select which DVR is being controlled?

I believe that one possible solution can be as follows:
1.Use a separate Harmony 900 with Blaster for each room
2.Each Blaster is associated with ONLY its Harmony 900 (and does not respond to commands from the other Harmony 900)
3.Each Blaster can control 2 identical DVRs if connected to different ports of the Blaster
Kind of expensive but it seems to solve the problem.
Questions:
a.is my understanding of how this will work correct?
b.is there a better/simpler way?

I tried to do the same thing with 2 comcast HD boxes. Both were same manufacturer, but different models (RNG as I recall). They both used the same code set and the only way around it was to get comcast to give me a box from a different manufacturer - in my case, I got a Scientific Atlanta to replace the RNG. Problem solved...but it was not easy to get comcast to cooperate.
