Hello all,

I recently got a Philips SRU9600 remote and I'm having some problems getting it to work with my cable box. The cable box is a Scientific Atlanta Explorer 8300HD and includes DVR capabilities. Using the pre-installed codes, everything important was working except for one button, the List button which brings up the list of recorded shows. I've tried using the learning function on the Philips remote, but even though it says that the new function was learned, it still cannot bring up the list of recorded shows.

Does anyone have any info on getting the List button to work? I'd hate to have to return this device since it's been able to replace every other remote we have. But, it really is a deal breaker for us since most of the TV we watch is recorded.

Thanks,
Saru

OK, to answer my own question...

After some more playing around with the remotes, I realized that the batteries in the cable box remote were starting to go bad. Swapped them out and the button programming worked as it should.

Kind of embarrassing, but at least it's all working now.
