This is a device that is supposed to convert your existing remote's IR signals to RF. It lives in the remote's battery compartment and is shaped like an AAA or AA battery, and appears to replace one cell with a smaller one. What I'm wondering is:
a) How well does the RF sender work? b) How long is battery life with these smaller cells? c) What kind of cells does it use? They look expensive...
Terk (before they were purchased by Audiovox) used to sell a device that you could attach to the front of the remote that would convert IR to RF; this new solution looks less obtrusive, but if I have to spend a fortune on batteries I'll go with a universal RF remote instead (that's not really an attractive option because my SA8300HD's remote has some buttons that you won't find on most universals, and I don't want this to be difficult for my wife to use).
