Recieved Philips without the remote, broken by previous owner.
Looking to make it all happy using a remote already had laying around... but.
Going through the manual's codes for philips products, I found 1 to make the volume work, but that is it...
I am looking to be able to change the source and Play/FF/REW DVDs etc...
Anyone have any ideas?

Have you tried manual and auto search?

I did.
The afore mentioned code worked for volume, and not power etc etc.
The auto and manual search funtions are basing their assumption on the power button, so unless I go through each one, testing each function, like play, for example, I am sure to miss them. The one I did get I would have missed on auto search.
I am not saying I won't do the manual search, testing functionality at every spot.
I just wanted to see if anyone a) had the same combination of remote and device, and hence might have some idea, b) had a better solution than trying each spot one at a time... if all this fails ... then one day i will put in the time, maybe
That or gain better employment and buy a new system :)
