I cannot seem to find a code for my cable remote (universalremote-ur4exp) to control my new emerson lcd tv model # ewl3706 can anybody help me w/this none of the codes i have tried work!??

I tend to think that if none of the TV codes mentioned in the remote manual actually work, then it's more than likely your particular model of TV is not supported.
That said you could always do a Google search on "Emerson tv remote codes" for some alternatives to try.

WISH I HAD A MANUAL TO REFERENCE..TV IS NEW. HAVE THAT MANUAL. CABLE BOX REMOTE NEW BUT.. NO MANUAL PROVIDED! CALLED CABLE PROVIDER FOR LIST OF CODES BUT YOU KNOW HOW THAT GOES, THEY DIDNT MAKE THE REMOTE SO THEY HAVE LIMITED INFO SO THATS WHY I CAME HERE HOPING TO FIND THOSE LITTLE GEMS OF INFO THAT FALL THROUGH THE CRACKS, SOMETIMES A LITTLE RESEARCH GOES A LONG WAY !! AND I HAVE GOTTEN THE VOLUME TO WORK (SORT OF)! SO THERE MAY BE SUPPORT FOR THAT MODEL AFTER ALL! SO CONTINUE MY QUEST I WILL IN SEARCH OF MY.......PRECIOUS!...... SORRY JUST WATCHED LORD OF THE RING AGAIN AND COULDNT HELP MYSELF.

I just finished programing my Direct TV remote to this model and found 052 works. After entering program mode on this remote you can enter 004 then step through all the codes by alternatly pressing the + channel button then trying the power button till you find the one that works, then hit select.

I've since discovered that Funai make models under the Emerson (and Sylvania) brand names. It might be worth giving those a try.
