Yesterday, I tried to program my Rotel RR-1050 remote to control other components in my home theatre. I followed the instructions in the manual. Along the way, I must have made some errors and things didn't work out the way I wanted them to. I decided to clear all of the codes that I had loaded into the remote. I also cleared and preloaded the AUD and V1 buttons on the remote as noted in the manual. This should have returned the remote to the factory settings for both the receiver and a Rotel DVD player.
I have now discovered that I can't access the OSD. When I press the OSD button in the AUD mode, the television turns off/on. When I press the OSD button in the V1/V2 mode, nothing happens. It worked fine before I attempted to program the remote. I 'm looking for any advice that would help me restore my remote to the original settings. I also replaced the batteries with a fresh set. The receiver I'm operating with the remote is the Rotel RSX-1056.

Thanks.
Rick

I've no experience of this remote, but having taken a look at the manual it would indeed appear as though you've done everything correctly.

If you've not done so already, I can only suggest you try manually clearing all codes (including AUD and V1) and then try a Preload onto the now "blank" remote. If that fails to correct the problem I fear your only other recourse would be to contact Rotel directly.

Thanks for the suggestion, djy. I tried what you suggested but to no avail. I did determine that if I set my display to the input that I have the receiver connected to and then turn the receiver on, I can access the OSD by pressing the Enter button as soon as the status screen appears.
Thanks again!

Regards,
Rick
