Anyone have the remote code for the HR-VP612U vcr? Trying to get my tv remote to recognoze it. Thx.

Sorry. Its a mitsubishi which suggests codes like 030, 031, 054...but none of these work. Thanks for the quick input.

If none of the JVC codes work, that tells me you have your JVC vcr set to B-code. JVC vcr's have two codes, A & B,, so you can have more then one vcr in the same room. Check you manual on how to change VCR & VCR remote to the other code. Then the codes in Mits remote will probably work.

I checked the manual and don't remember seeing anything about a or b codes. Only saw something about the jvc able to learn other mfr's codes, such as tv's. But nothing about the jvc code anywhere.

On your JVC oem remote, do tthe following:
1. press and hold MBR SET/ A & B key, keeping holding
2. press #1 key and release it
3. press OK or STOP, it differs with certain remotes.
Does the jvc remote still control your vcr?
If it doesn't, unplug and replug the power cord from the vcr.
Now point the jvc remote at the vcr and press any key.

okay but I don't see a mbr set a & b key on the jvc remote. this still works the jvc. i'm trying to see if the mitsu remote can learn the jvc. it seems to require to 3 digit code. i don't know. but thanks for any input.

Well my old philips tv has the ability to scan and learn the codes. Unfortunately the mitsu doesn't have the scan capability. Requires the code input. Too bad.

I also have a JVC HR-VP612U vcr. I am on Dish network, and it lists the following for vcr remote codes. 561, 562, 563, 564, 592, 594, 600, 601. Mine uses 562. Hope this helps.
