I'm programming a friend's IRIQ and using my pronto to teach it discrete on/off codes for the equipment. On a Pioneer DV-F07, the learned codes work fine off my pronto. When I teach them to the IRIQ, they are learned, but do not work correctly. If you push and hold the button for two seconds they work properly. I've tried to teach the IRIQ several different ways, tried to add a macro that hits the on button several times in a row, etc. All to no avail. Is there a way to tell the IRIQ how long to send a certain command? Any help would be appreciated.

We are not being rude. We have no answer to that. The only thing that I can tell you I have heard on this and it seemed to work on a few of my keys, is to reteach the same command to the IRIQ a number of times. Three or four seems to work. And I always use the original remote from the component to do the teaching. I am not sure that an intermediate device like the pronto is the best way to go about the learning process.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for the response. I was beginning to think you did not like me! Unfortunately, since the "on" and "off" are discrete codes, they are not available on an original remote. Doing the intermidiate through my pronto was the only way I was aware of to do the teaching. I retaught the code a dozen times, all to no avail.

I did see some threads regarding discrete code entry with the IRIQ. Is this a pain in the keester? How would one go about the process and where are those codes available. Can you edit the "power" code to eliminate the on or off portion? Any other suggestions.

There is a thread on here for using a program to read other peoples IRIQ/TC1000 data. How did you get the code into the pronto? Learning or direct entry? Over on JP1 almost every code known to man is listed for use on UEIC remotes. There are pronto to efc decoders. You could decode the pronto commands and then try to find the correct efc and protocol for the ueic types and see if there is a standard code for the commands that you are trying to get into the IRIQ. If the protocol and the efc exist and there is a preprogrammed code in the IRIQ/TC1000 then you could use that device for the on and off discretes you are trying to achieve. These are just ramblings tho. No real explicit answer.

I got the discrete codes from the files section of this site. The on and off work fine from my pronto, but the IRIQ could not learn them properly. I tried every which way from Sunday to no avail. If I press and "hold" the on or off discrete on the IRIQ, they work fine. It would seem that since the code is apparently there, it is just a matter of getting the IRIQ to send the signal for a longer period. I did go into the ".IRM" file and saw ahat appeared to be the actual codes for each function. What does one do from here? Where is this program or thread you are referring to?

There is no such thing as a remote that has the actual on or off codes on it. The only way I am aware of getting these codes is from a site like this. Any more insight?

Thanks Gerald. I'll look through the link and see what I can find. I also discovered that the Elite DVD comes on when you press play. I can work that into the programming if I have to, and that should solve the problem.
