OOHH PLEASE HELP ME. It is now 12:24 am on Wednesday morning and I have just spent the last hour and a half trying to get my TAKE CONTROL to switch on the PANASONIC QUINTRIX 32" WIDESCREEN, FLATSCREEN TV, to no avail.
No matter which combination of send and delay commands I try, it will not turn the TV on in a macro.
If I press the TV POWER button that the TAKE CONTROL has learnt, that works fine. But when I try it in the macro setting it just will not turn the damn TV on.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated, and YES I have updated the software to v 1.5 THAT'S WHEN THE TROUBLE STARTED!

Chris,

Dont know if this will help, but can your TV be turned on by sending a channel button (IE "1" or "2" etc) and not the power button ?
I had this problem with my Ferguson TV, and using the "number" buttons to swithch on, and the power button to switch off worked OK, but the power button would not switch on.
Also you might try re-learning the power button through the software. This sometimes strips out little bits of unwanted code from the signal, which might have been recorded the first time.
Also, have you tried putting this function in position 1 of the macro. This is often the "safest" position for troublesome commands.

thanks leigh, tried all of the above with no luck. The channel button is no more powerful than the tv power button so this doesn't help, I have also relearnt the power button several times with no luck, and it is in position 1 already. Any more suggestions? I think I will try using the old software and not the v1.5 that was added to my start menu when I upgraded.
I'll keep you posted!

Chris,

Hope that works for you, but remember the firmware will also have been upgraded, and that is more likely to be causing the problems. It might also be quite "dangerous" to use the old software with the new firmware...
The only other "solution" (and not a very nice one) is to program the macro to do everything else you want, and switch to an activity at the end, which has the power button on the screen. You could then push it as the last action. Not ver good, but might help you out until you can figure out the real problem...

thanks wayne, but when I send 2 commands to the tv, which used to be how I turned it on before I upgraded to v1.5, it now runs thru' the macro twice. So my amp turns on and off ect.... very confusing. Have kind of sorted my problem by putting a TV POWER button on all my screens that need it, and adjusting the macros accordingly.
chris.
