I have tried to get my IRIQ to work properly with my Onkyo receiver for a while without succeeding. The problem is that the volume control for my receiver seems to use adaptive IR signals, that is: fewer signals when the volume is low, and more signals when the volume is getting higher. With my IRIQ I cannot simulate this (at least not now), which give me this scenario:

The volume adjustment seems ok when I am at a decent movie watching level (aprox. -10dB), but when going down to a more pleasant for the neighbours level (aprox. -20dB) it adjusts in steps of 5-6 dB, which of course gets rather annoying.

When moving even further down the scale, the steps increase to aprox. 10 dB, which is rather hopeless.

Have any of you been into these kind of problems, and have you managed to solve them?

Hi-

I've had lots of problems getting the TC to control my Onkyo receiver, too. The volume controls finally 'took' with repeated efforts, but no luck getting some of the other functions to work. I tried to get the IR frequency specs from Onkyo, but couldn't get anyone online or over the phone who understood what I was asking for. Maybe they're out of the TC's range.

I've had the same problems with Tx ds 747 volume controls. I've been told to turn the receiver off & tirn the volume control by hand full circle about 5-7 times. That will cure the jumping up & down motion of the decibel scroll on the receiver from the Onkyo remote. Hope this works for you; it did for me & I was very surprised!!!!!!
