I just purchased this remote and was looking forward to cutting down my home aresenal to one infra red gun. Well, seems this remote doesn't want to learn the codes for my Sony 90 ES reciever. If anyone can help me program my new toy, please help.

I'm afraid your 90ESG (and all other "VisionTouch") receivers cannot be controlled by the Take Control or any other universal remote. This is due to the non-standard format Sony used when designing these models; other receiver models such as the 80ES work fine will all remotes out there. The only solution for you is to continue to use the original remote that came with it, or purchase a new receiver. Sorry, there are no other options.

Are there any future remotes that will be able to run this reciever?

Scott: unlikely. Even Sony appears to have abandoned this format - they created a problem, but don't seem to want to address it with, say, a custom version of the AV2000. For now (and possibly forever), there's nothing you can do...
