My old remote no longer works correctly, so I've decided to get a new one. I know a few things about universal remotes, but I still need some help. I have a 1998 Panasonic TV/VCR combo ( model PV-M2048), and I'm looking for a remote that's under $20.
What remote would work well with my TV? I also need to know codes. Your help would be appreciated, thanks.

Practically any cheap remote will work with your TV combo. The codes will come in the manual with the remote. Just go to Radio Shack or Walmart and pick whatever fits best.

If you get a One For All remote, or a Radio Shack remote that's made by UEI, the code for the TV portion will probably be TV/0250 and the code for the VCR portion will probably be VCR/1162.
If you go to Walmart, get the One For All URC-8810w (which costs about $17). This remote has learning, so you can learn any buttons that are missing from the two setup codes that I mentioned.
