I recently picked up an older Pioneer Elite projection TV in beautiful condition, and am building a theater around it. The Sony SL-V900 remote that we already had here turned out to be unable to learn any of the signals from the Pioneer remote.

The Sony remote can control the rest of the system, so it's not a huge hardship to push POWER on the Pioneer remote to turn on the set, and a macro button on the Sony remote to get everything else going. But you know how it is... so, which of the current crop of universal remotes are known to be able to reliably learn the old Elite remote codes, are are there none that can do it?

Failing that, the TV itself has learning/repeater capability built in, but the previous owner didn't have the repeater that came with the set (it's designed to plug into the back, and adhere to the top of the cabinet). Maybe I should be contacting a dealer to see if those are still available, but I think I'd rather not have to rely on the TV remote at all.

TIA for any advice.

Whoops... never mind. Silly to have assumed the codes would have to be learned - the canned Pioneer codes in the Sony remote work just fine, including the menu. :dunce:
